Nothing more magical than swimming in the dark. Like you're still in your dreamscape, in another dimension. Also: I saw the moon while driving home late and when I got in, one of my kids was up and I made him run with me into the field behind our house to ogle her. What a gift!
Exactly about swimming in the dark! Same for me with riding in the dark. It IS a gift. I love that you and one of your kids ran into the field behind your house to look in awe!! ❤️
It’s so funny. Hip man was swimming on the wrong side of the lane! But of course, you’re in America, so things are different over there! The little things we notice. What a shame about the Apple power cord. Your 2013 MacBook Pro is still working? Such sturdy devices! And beautiful bullrushes (as we call them over here). You can see their feet are in damp ground. Clever things to be so resourceful, taking opportunity of the moisture collecting by the roadside.
Hahha! That is funny! He runs circle laps, down on the right, back up on the left, which is funny, too, as he's always in a lane by himself so he could just run up and down in the middle of the lane. I bought a new power cord at the Apple Store - I was surprised they had one! And yes! Bullrushes! I forgot they are also called that. Jim said, too, that there was water collected under the plant's feet. What's curious to me, though, is how the seeds for it arrived in that location. It's super dry there most of the year. Love what you noticed!!!
I’m absolutely certain that Mary won’t have problems with two of us commenting that these are called bullrushes in both Australia and the UK. (It’s good to know that that part of ‘English’ is common to both of us.)
I'm loving your swimming pictures, Mary - I think it's awesome that you swim when it's still dark! I don't think I've ever swum in the dark before.
Cat tails are what we call 'bullrushes' over here, also known as 'reedmace'. They look like oversized matches!
Thanks, Rebecca, and swimming in the dark is the BEST! “Reedmace” is a new word for me - I’ll check it out after our morning swim!

And I love the little pops of colour on your buggy! A lovely little picture! 🤗🤗
Thanks! It's fun to add just a bit of color to an ink drawing. 😁

LOL - I've just spotted that you'd already got there with bullrushes, Beth! I should've read the comments before commenting! 🤣

No problem whatsoever!! I love learning the different words we use to describe the same thing, part of my love for Substack Uni! Keep it comin'! ❤️
