I'm so sorry to hear about your collision, though - but (if I'm allowed to say this) I'm just going to say that I'm glad that Jim was hit by your front tyre rather than a car! I hope all's well with you both, and that you weren't too shaken. xxx
Thanks, Rebecca, we're both glad, too, that it wasn't a car collision. We had 2 blind spots - mine was different than Jim's, so neither one of us saw what the other was seeing, or not seeing. It happened so quickly. I was more shaken than Jim, I rode it out, and felt better once we were home. Whew!
It's soooooooo delicious! My Jim puts the cupcakes in a warm oven as it cools while we eat supper, and then when it's time for dessert, he sometimes puts a tiny milk chocolate covered graham on the top of the warm cake. The milk chocolate melts into the top of the double chocolate cake, and the cold smooth and creamy yogurt adds a soft punctuation to the food amalgam.
Oh my goodness me, what a treat! My mouth's watering! '...and the cold smooth and creamy yogurt adds a soft punctuation to the food amalgam' - what an incredible description.
I made cake this week. At one of the museums we visited last week we paused to take on some emergency rations - in the form of strong coffee and an apple & cinnamon slice each. It was sooooo delicious that I asked the chef if he would mind sharing the recipe with me - sadly it was a secret, but I nevertheless had a go at something similar at home. I measured equal weights of standard sponge ingredients (I think what you'd call pound cake) and smooth stewed apple which I'd passed through a sieve (because toenails!), and a couple of teaspoons of cinnamon, and actually it was really nice!
Thanks, Jon! It was a fleeting moment - I love to ride, and I care, too. The wind was so gusty and my rear tire was a bit soft, making the climb just enough tougher than usual.
Glad you got home safely.
Thanks, Terry, we are, too!
Over 25 miles - wow, that's awesome!

'Rode it out' - I like the sound of that, Mary. All's well that ends well - I hope you recovered with a cuppa and a cake. #medicinalreasons
I recovered with one of my favorite suppers with a warm cake + my favorite coconut milk plain yogurt, better than ice cream. Thanks, Rebecca 😀
Oooooh, now that sounds like a delicious combination!

You can borrow my answer if you like. “I ride because I care - I give a damn.”

I have moments like that too
