Jim drove downtown to his parking garage with his bike in the back of his truck and then rode home via a surprising hilly route, stopping at Half Price Books and Central Market.
Why, you may ask?
Tomorrow morning my flight lands before 10 am in the middle of Jim’s workday. He’ll pick me up in the Cooper, we’ll drive to his workplace so he can finish his day, and I’ll go to my workplace to work my normal Monday hours. His truck is in his parking garage so he can drive home, and I’ll drive home when I’m ready. He is such a good planner.
My thrivin’ today: a wonderful morning walk to Meijer (formerly Meijer Thrifty Acres) about a mile from my sister’s home, a Grand Rapids grocery story chain with a vast variety of groceries and housewares.
This particular store has a Starbucks and outdoor seating. I took advantage of both. The fall weather was perfect, the skies pure Michigan blue. I checked out the “World Foods” aisle to see their Dutch, British, Australian, and any other international foods’ selection. This is what I found:
I spent the rest of the day visiting with my sister-in-law, my father-in-law, my mom, my eldest sister, and a cousin and her husband who I haven’t seen in seven years. My sister and I had a delicious cozy supper at my cousin’s home. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful weekend.
What an all around delightful week end, Mary B.! The transportation solution involving both bikes and cars was the product of good, smart problem solving as you so stated. Onward into Monday once your plane touches down.
Sounds wonderful. Safe travels. 🤗🤗
