Hello, day 700 day of riding our bikes for most of our errands. It’s been great so far. Here’s to the next 700. 🚲 🚲
After lunch, I walked to find wildflowers to harvest for a botanical dye. Available today in my neighborhood: Prairie Verbena, Texas lantana Lantana urticoides , Pink Evening Primrose, Plains Coreopsis, Firewheel, and Indian Blanket Gaillardia pulchella.
This is my harvest:
We rode to HEB at 2 pm for tomorrow’s pizza veggies via the Westcreek Greenway and the Violet Crown Trail - North (VCT-N) under mostly sunny skies, variable breezes, temps in the 80s. Beautiful day.
Traffic was light for us but MoPac southbound was backed up by 2:45 pm. We saw the stalled traffic as we approached the access point to the VCT-N on Ben Garza Lane, and rode under it on the VCT-N proper.
An art aside: my version of a new-to-me-animal, the muntjac. Thanks, Terry F.
Such bounty!
AWESOME muntjac, Mary! And I love the haul of flower petals - I can't wait to see what you'll be doing with them!
